Improvisational Zipper Bag

My local MQG had a "improvisational zipper bag" exchange last week, so I thought I'd share the bag I made.

This is as improv as I get.  I had some B & C Happy Go Lucky wedges left over from a project, and thought they'd pair perfectly with Moda Linen.  I pieced the wedges, added the linen strips, backed it with fusible batting and a green print, and quilted it with simple straight lines.  For the back I just sandwiched linen, fusible batting and the green print; no quilting.

I sewed on a zipper with tabs, top-stitched, turned with right sides together, sewed a 1/4" seam and finished the edges with a zigzag stitch.

added a HGL fat quarter just for fun
I really do like how it turned out.  And seeing the other exchange bags was really fun.  You just can't have too many zipper bags.  : )

Come see what I'm up to on Instagram!
